Estimate your take-home pay in Victoria for the 2025-26 financial year. Enter an amount at any pay frequency to see income tax, the Medicare levy, HELP/HECS repayments and employer super, converted across hourly, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and annual pay.
What Is the Pay Calculator VIC?
The Pay Calculator VIC runs the amount you enter through federal Australian tax settings. Because the employee tax calculation is federal, a Melbourne salary and a regional Victoria salary produce the same net pay at the same Gross Income. Victoria charges no state income tax on wages.

Pick your cycle
Choose Hourly, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly or Annually. The tool converts across all 5 cycles at once.
Switch on Options
Turn on the toggles that apply to you — super, student loan, non-resident, surcharge and more.

Your Pay
Enter your income details in 3 fields: the pay amount, the pay cycle and your weekly hours. A casual rate of $42 per hour over 38 hours becomes $1,596 weekly, $3,192 fortnightly and $82,992 annually. Weekly hours drive the hourly conversion, so a part-time VIC role on 22 hours returns a different hourly rate to a full-time salary of the same annual value.
Options — 8 Toggles
The Options panel holds 8 toggles that change your Taxable Income, tax withholding or super treatment:

Victoria charges no state income tax on wages, so the rates below are federal Australian tax rates that apply to every Victorian employee. Victoria does charge payroll tax — 4.85% metropolitan and 1.2125% regional on Australian wages above the $1,000,000 annual threshold ($83,333 monthly) — paid by the Employer, not deducted from your wage.

Medicare Levy
Medicare Levy Thresholds
The Medicare Levy is 2% of Taxable Income for most Australian residents. Singles pay nothing at or below the lower threshold of $28,011 and a reduced rate up to $35,013. Seniors and pensioners entitled to SAPTO have a lower threshold of $44,268 and upper of $55,335. The family lower threshold is $47,238 and rises by $4,338 for each dependent child or student.
The Medicare Levy Surcharge is a separate 1%–1.5% charge for high earners with No Private Hospital Cover. Singles pay it above $105,000 and families above $210,000 — 1% to $122,000, 1.25% to $164,000 and 1.5% above $164,000. Holding an approved hospital policy removes the surcharge.
💼 Superannuation Guarantee — 12%
The Super Guarantee rate is 12% of qualifying earnings in 2026-27 — the final legislated step. An $85,000 plus-super salary attracts $10,200 in employer contributions, while an $85,000 super-inclusive package holds $9,107 of super inside the $85,000. Payday Super started 1 July 2026, so contributions reach your fund within 7 business days of each payday. The maximum contribution base for 2026-27 is $270,830, capping compulsory employer contributions at $32,499.60.
